A. Honey for Moisturising

Facial Mask 1

Take one teaspoon each of raw honey and olive oil; and the yolk of an egg. Mix all the ingredients together and apply it to your face. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

This mask helps in moisturising the skin, removes skin tan and rejuvenates the skin.

Facial Mask 2

Take one teaspoon each of honey, fuller’s earth (Multani Mitti) and lemon juice. Blend the ingredients together to make a thick paste. Apply it to skin and let sit for 15 minutes. Then wash it off with warm water.

This facial mask helps in moisturising the skin and gives us a glowing skin.

B.Honey for Exfoliation

Facial Mask 1

Take one teaspoon each of honey, lemon juice and sugar and mix them well. Rub the mixture gently on your skin and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

Honey helps in cleansing the skin; lemon juice brightens the skin tone and sugar works as an exfoliator. This facial mask is highly effective in removing dead skin cells and also helps in removing blackheads. This facial mask can be used at least once a week and is suitable for both oily and dry skin.

Facial Mask 2

Take one teaspoon raw honey and ½ teaspoon baking soda, and mix them well. Apply the mixture to your face and gently massage in a circular motion for a minute. Then wash off with warm water.

One can also use it as a face mask; just apply the mixture to the face and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then rinse off with warm water.

C.Honey for Preventing Acne

Facial Mask 1

Take one tablespoon of raw honey, two tablespoons jojoba oil or coconut oil and mix them together well. Apply the mixture to dry skin, then massage gently in a circular motion for 5 minutes. Avoid the eye area. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Acne is caused when oil and dirt build up on our skin. Honey is known to absorb impurities from the pores of the skin and works as a cleansing agent. It is loaded with antiseptic properties which heal the skin and also helps in getting rid of pimples and acne.

Take one teaspoon each of honey and coconut oil. Apply the mixture on the affected areas and leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

D.Honey for Removing Suntan

Take ½ cup of ripe papaya pulp and a tablespoon of honey. Mix the ingredients well to make a thick paste. Apply it to clean face and leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse off with plain water.

Honey and papaya help in removing sun tan and reduces the visibility of scars and blemishes.

Facial Mask 2

Take two tablespoon milk powder, one tablespoon honey and a few drops of almond oil. Mix all the ingredients well and apply to face. Rinse off with regular water after 20 minutes.

This face pack moisturises the skin, reduces the effects of skin tan and gives a smooth and clear texture to the skin.

Take two tablespoons of pineapple pulp and mix one tablespoon of honey to it. Blend them together and apply on dry face. Rinse off with water after 5 minutes.

E.Honey for Treating Dandruff

Hair Mask 1

Take two tablespoons of honey and three tablespoons of olive oil and heat them together. Then, add a tablespoon of lemon juice to it and mix well. Apply it to the scalp and hair. Wash off with a mild shampoo after 30 minutes.

Hair Mask 2

Take two ripe bananas, one tablespoon each of honey, olive oil and lemon juice. Mash the banana in a bowl and add olive oil, honey and lemon juice to it. Mix the ingredients well to get a thick paste. Apply the mixture to the scalp and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

For this hair mask, you will need 1 cup sour yoghurt and half a cup honey. Mix the ingredients together to make a smooth paste and then apply the mixture to the hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap and wash off with lukewarm water and mild shampoo after 15 minutes.
