Sujata Kumar: English Vinglish Actor Dies after battling Metastatic Cancer

Sujata Kumar, an actor who played the role of Sridevi’s sibling in the famous movie English Vinglish, died after battling stage four cancer. The news of the actor’s death was confirmed by her sister, singer and actor Suchitra Krishnamoorthi.

Suchitra took to Twitter to share the news with the world:

“Our beloved Sujata Kumar has passed away and moved on to a better place leaving us with an unimaginable void. She left us an hour ago at 11.26 pm on the 19th of August 2018. Life can never be the same again…”

According to a report in Spotboye, Sujata Kumar had fourth stage cancer, which had metastasised. She was admitted at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai and her condition deteriorated. It was also reported that she had multiple organ failure.

Sujata Kumar was best known for her role in English Vinglish. She also appeared in a few TV serials like Bombay Talking and Hotel Kingston.

She also appeared in the famous Anil Kapoor’s show 24 as Meghna Singhania. Sujata Kumar has also worked in a couple of other Bollywood movies like Raanjhanaa and Gori Tere Pyar Mein.
