Dr Agarwal completed his MBBS from Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra in the year 1958. Then, he went on to complete his MS - Ophthalmology from L.P.S Institute of Cardiology, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College (G.S.V.M Medical College), Kanpur in 1962. Subsequently, he completed his PhD - Ophthalmology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in the year 1966.
