Newborn babies should be taken utmost care of, and Healthy Food habits for them is a must as their digestive system is not developed and as such cannot digest most of the foods. The food habits of babies are different, and they should be given the best of baby food so that it helps them to develop their body system properly. Their body is very soft, and they should be nourished to the maximum care possible. The first solid foods should be introduced to babies at around 4-6 months of their birth. Start with Solids:

There are many kinds of solid foods that are good to feed a baby. Rice cereal is favoured by many mothers for the healthy growth of their babies. But, some pre-conditions need to be followed before giving solid foods to the babies. The baby should be able to support itself, and the baby must be able to make chewing movements so that they can be given solid foods. To start with, solid liquids are needed to be given at a certain age. Solid foods should be introduced at around six months. Mother’s milk is the best milk when it comes to one year babies. At the very beginning, babies don’t take much of solid foods and it is required for babies to take some kind of foods for their development. Breastfeeding gives enough strength to babies which helps in their ultimate development.

Feeding solid foods takes some time :

It may seem easy but taking solid foods is new to babies. They don’t have the habit of taking foods with a spoon. It takes some time to learn to take solid foods. The digestive system takes some time to understand the pattern of solid foods. It may be seen that babies don’t take too much of solid foods at the same time. Babies should be first given to feel the experience of taking solid foods rather than giving too much at a time. Don’t give all foods at the same time: One year babies can be given fruits, vegetables and also meat at some time. All of these items should not be given at the same time. Every food item should be given one at a time so that they can feel the solid food while eating it. Only that much should be given which can fit into the spoon.

No taking of honey :

It is mostly advised by doctors not to give honey to babies as honey is quick sticky and it takes time for babies to digest it. Honey might cause some kind of problem in the food pipe due to its extra stickiness.

Stopping when the baby wants to :

Babies should not be given foods when they tell to stop. It may happen that they don’t feel hungry anymore. In this case, if babies are continuously given food, then it might cause digestive problems.
Giving solids to babies is a hard task. The whole place seems like a messy one as babies try to feed themselves and in the process, they spread the food here and there. Parents should maintain patience when trying to feed their babies. Babies should be allowed to explore and experience the whole range of solid foods to help them like foods.
