Due to the high temperature and humidity, those with curly hair also experience untameable frizziness. Also, if swimming is your summer activity, then chlorinated water can leave the hair brittle. Not many of us have the time, energy or money to regularly indulge in hair spas to treat the damage. Experts suggest pampering your tresses with natural hair masks that heal, moisturise and condition your hair. Apply one of these quick DIY hair packs once a week to keep your locks soft, manageable and lustrous this summer. Be party-ready girls!
For Frizzy manes-Best-suited for dry and frizzy hair, this mask will make your hair soft, glossy and prevent split ends. Take 5tbsp coconut oil and 5tbsp castor oil. Apply it gently from the root to the tip of your hair. Keep your hair covered with a shower cap and left it for an hour. Then, rinse it off with a mild shampoo and say hello to your nicely moisturised locks.
For damaged locks-Banana makes your hair strong by preventing your roots from getting damaged, and also leaves your hair glossy and smooth. Blend an overripe banana in a grinder. Add 1 tbsp of honey to it. Apply it on your hair, massaging the roots. Leave it for an hour and then rinse it off with warm water. This will nurture your scalp and treat damaged hair.
For hair fall woes-Rich in proteins, vitamins, eggs will help you deal with common hair woes, especially hair fall. Take out the white portion from an egg. Add 1 tsp olive oil, 1 tsp lemon juice and 1 tbsp curd. Beat it well for a paste-like consistency. Apply it on your scalp and hair. Keep it for 30 minutes and rinse with a mild shampoo and cool water. Use it every week for voluminous locks.
For weak roots-This is a perfect solution for weak roots, as hibiscus is known for its strengthening properties. Soak hibiscus petals overnight in a cup of water. Blend it with 1tsp almond/coconut oil and 1tbsp curd. Keep the hair mask for 30 minutes and then rinse it off with water. It will not only nourish the roots but make your hair smooth and silky, too.
For greasy scalp-This mask is a saviour for those with greasy, itchy scalp or a dandruff condition. It will eliminate excess oil and protect hair follicles. Mix 3 tbsp oatmeal, 1 tbsp milk and one tsp almond/olive oil to make a paste. Leave it for 30 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Do this once a week and see the difference.
